I’m pretty sure spy satellites do have even greater resolution, only thing is that you’re not gonna use something like that for a map view and it would be very inefficient, since those satellites certainly don’t have the same field of view and would take a lot longer to scan the appropriate area, and are limited in number.

I mean, a lot of the points are valid, but the Pixel phones are pretty great, Android is pretty great and getting better, and the Chromebook gamble is playing a really long term game where they could end up uprooting Microsoft if they play their cards right. From my understanding, US kids now on average know Chromebook OS better than Windows by far, and will probably prefer to continue using it if they could. If Google makes the OS more viable for professional use and flexible and play their cards right, they’d have a really good chance at uppending Microsoft’s dominance, especially since Microsoft is seemingly trying to shoot itself in the foot with Windows.

Had a period here where it was like 4 on average, now it’s usually 1-2, trying to make it midnight or 23, but that hasn’t happened in like 5 years probably so doubt.

I mean, first off, a lot of you are focusing on the right side joystick but it’s completely irrelevant since it’s the same position for both, I was just using it as an explanation why it makes sense for it to be assymetrical on the Xbox controller. I personally only play non FPS games with a controller so for me it’s the majority, but I understand that maybe most games played with controllers today are FPS or use the right joystick more than the left. But, again, that wasn’t really the main argument nor the point.

But second, idk man but how is your natural hand position such that it’s easier to reach the PlayStation left joystick instead of the Xbox left joystick? When I look at my hand in a resting position, the thumb is right over where the joystick would be on the Xbox controller. The only type of game where the PlayStation layout would be superior when looking at that element is one where you mostly use the Dpad, like a fighting game.

I don’t have a PlayStation controller with me right now, so maybe the body is differently shaped as to make the bottom joysticks the natural thumb positions unlike on the Xbox one, but on the Xbox controller your natural thumb resting position is definitely the top row.

I mean, except for OCD, I don’t see it being symmetrical as important. It’s basically saying that you’d rather have something less optimal just so that it’s equally worse on both sides, instead of it being better on one side and worse on the other.

In most games it’s the opposite. Most of the time by far you’re gonna be having your left thumb on the left joystick and right thumb on the buttons, not the right joystick. The positions those are in on the Xbox style controller are the natural positions for your hand and your thumbs are positioned symmetrically. On the PlayStation style, your left thumb is always forced to be in an unnatural position.

I never got vertical tabs, I just feel like I’m loosing screen real estate. For managing a lot of tabs I much prefer the Simple Tab Groups extension.

Honestly, the worst part of the AI craze is that so many people hear AI now and immediately hate it even though it can really do some amazing stuff, e.g. in medicine. AI as a blanket term just has so much variance, there’s a ton of trash and a ton of great stuff.

One thing I don’t get is that e.g. I have Revolut installed, I use it regularly, Google knows this yet still half or a quarter of my ads for months now has still been Revolut. Why??

I mean if you make a gmail account just for your Google account, you’ll either have to log into your Gmail account to check emails or miss potential important emails related to your account, which you would get if they were sent to your main email.
