6 months agoIt’s really something to see an area decline in your lifetime
Like the poster above,I’m from Romania,born after the fall of communism and I actively remember there being more people in my town when I was young (I’m still living here for the time being)
Now,to be fair,it’s a smaller town,less populated area,but both me and my mom who now works and practically lives in Norway can recall a time when there were more people in the city
When I was born we had almost 100k people,the biggest recorded population in our history,and now we’re at something below 65k,it’s really wild,I can recall the town being a little more lively,but now it’s not empty,but just…it feels like something is missing
Eh,it’s different in Romania
What we have aren’t liberals,at least in the European and US sense
What we have is decayed remnants of the bureaucratic class during communism that jumped ship and hitched their wagon to the west
What we have now is a fight between those with bank accounts dependant on Brussels and those with bank accounts in Moscow duking it out
I don’t believe for one second either PNL or PSD give a shit about “democracy” (as was seen with this stunt) and just favor the west for the time being
What you’re describing is AUR,and it does seem to be the direction they’re going in,with Simon being like Meloni in a lot of ways,starts off anti everything and then nicely simmers down when they win, except for the social policy
That scenario will or will not happen depending on whether or not they decide to arrest Georgescu,which would create a nice void to be filled by that little snake
As for what the information revealed by this investigation tells us, the theory that this guy was some SIE plant that got out of hand,with the mainstream parties wanting to use him as a roadblock to any united far right bloc,which hilariously blew up in their faces and now they have themselves the beginnings of a crisis on their hands,as well as an international embarrassment to show to the world
Sad, really, these guys were masters at stealing elections ten years ago,I can only wonder what happened that they dropped the ball so hard
