  • is true, that itself would be a self-correcting market force. Your price point should exist somewhere between the extreme of “lock it up so tight nobody can buy it” and “it’s cheaper for people to shoplift it en masse”. If you can’t manage that, maybe you deserve to go out of business (also I think you’ll find that it would also help to increase the number of staff to actually unlock the damn shelves). Perhaps in the long run the market will self correct, but this is absolutely idiotic right now. And the real consequences for people that have lost their local pharmacy are catastrophic.

I mean, there’s nothing at walgreens besides drugs that isn’t a rip-off, and the drugs are a rip-off too. But everything there that isn’t a drug has a huge mark-up relative to a regular store.

Ugh this type of bullshit infighting within leftist spaces is about as serious as debating your tabletop RPG actions, and sends regular people packing. None of this shit matters. Real people don’t care about it and they have no idea what a tankie is. Feds love this bullshit. We’re losing, we lost, the world is becoming a fascist hellscape but apparently somebody has time to make memes about fighting each other. It’s amazing how that always seems to happen, especially now when you’d think most people could feel unified?

  • the fediverse needs a simple onboarding process like “signal”, to overtly simplify it for casual users. Also, I only heard about loops today and it appears so far it only has a specialized iOS app that requires a special “alpha” mode to be enabled, and no android app. Not exactly ready for primetime.

  • The fediverse as a whole has missed a huge opportunity here. I never see anyone talking about it as alternatives to twitter or tiktok, only bluesky and rednote. AFAIK we have no alternative to tik-tok that is viable right now, so I don’t know why anyone thought we could manage that one.

  • Even if their claim of “organized theft” is true, that itself would be a self-correcting market force.
