A4: Possible, I would think. No idea if that’s ever on the devs’ roadmap. I think that would be added to the pict-rs code which is then used by the lemmy server.

I came across these discussion threads in the Lemmy and Pict-rs source code:

• Allow resize to be set in config to reduce max image size, pictrs does support this #2416
• Support pre-processing uploaded media #3
• support resizing to a maximum area #6

Is it possible that automatic compression has already been implemented? Might it just be a matter of passing an additional argument to pict-rs?

I can half believe that George intended for Jar Jar to be the villain in TPM, but changed his mind by AotC. With RotS as it is, there’s no indication that Jar Jar is the villain. Which is kind of a shame really. Such a twist could have “redeemed” the character in a way, and made up for all those awful Jar Jar scenes in TPM.

Eh, I think the Neuralink electrode retraction issue was a bit overblown. It sounds as though they were able to restore functionality to the shifted electrodes via a software update:

• GSE-5 scrapping continues throughout the night, concluding shortly before noon. Load spreader is disconnected, and the old tank farm is no more.
• Tower B: The four “feet” which the first tower section would sit upon are removed from the tower base.
• CC8800-1 crane testing continues.
• Tower A: Crews remove the LOX feed from the ship quick disconnect and a replacement is installed.

Yeah, there have been some… issues lately.

At most I could sticky a link to another community, or delete this one (which would be overkill imo)

Instead of deleting it, you could lock the community so only moderators could post, and have a stickied post directing people to the new community on a different instance. I think that @[email protected] has had some success with this approach in the past.

Not sure what the best instance would be though… maybe programming.dev?
