The violence that would be given to a lawful, rights bearing, legitimate citizen with full rights and privileges will pale in comparison to the violence that will be done to someone who doesn’t have all those privileges.
If something is done to a lawful citizen, then they can have some kind of recourse to do something about it. Someone who doesn’t have the same rights will have little or no choice to do anything about the violence done to them.

I legitimately don’t know the legal status of many of my friends. I know some of them are going through the immigration process, but have no idea of their current status.
At the end of the day, I’m not lying to an officer when I say I don’t know. I’m not an immigration official. I don’t ask to see my friends’ green cards when we hang out.
I would rather live with being in jail on bullshit charges than thinking I might have helped ruin the lives of people I care about. But I also recognize that I’m in a privileged position to do that. I already own my house, I have skills and knowledge in a trade, and can easily start a small business to support myself and my family if no one will hire me.
Do what you think is right for you. But if you rat out people you care about just because some dipshit waved a gun in your face, you’re a coward.
It’s like part of me wants to follow MLK’s way of doing things but then 5 minutes later it’s “welp. I’m Indigenous Canadian and I’ve had my share of dealing with law enforcement for minor stuff. I never did anything wrong, I just had to stand my ground and even when I did, I still faced difficulty and it took allies around me to make it easier. The point is, it’s easier to fight and challenge now when the violence and provocation is minimal.
You are right, I would probably be a wuss as much as anyone else under torture … which is why I would rather fight and challenge now, rather than wait until things get much worse and I have to break under more extreme conditions.

There has to be something beyond that, at the very least so that wannabe assholes fear being spotted and suffering reprisals if they do act like assholes, which if you want to make it as above the Law as possible (rather than merelly “I know which car you drive and it would be a shame if it got damaged overnight”) does require some form of involving the community to create a perception that those who rat will get into trouble with the rest.
The problem is not simply solved or even significantly so with a mere “don’t tell the pigs anything” (i.e. “Do No Evil”), even though those who act thus do gain the moral high ground by acting like that.

Together, we are prepared to help in many, many more ways than either of us could ever do alone.
And the bigger your circle, the more situations you’re prepared for! If you haven’t yet, take an honest assessment of your skills. Figure out how you can most help others. You don’t have to be an S rank talker or violencer, you can be bad at the skill you pick! The important thing is to pick the skill, *then work on it. *
Even if you don’t have a circle, if you’re all alone, you can be preparing yourself to help others who need it. You are valued. Get off your high horse; I don’t need to go read literature to understand what’s going on here because it is plainly evident. I have come across entire handfuls of these posts on social media; Lemmy, Reddit, and Twitter where people want to blame this amorphous concept of “white people”, “whiteness”, or whatever specific terminology they use to suggest white people are some master class responsible for their misfortunes. The real divide is financial, which is why you see class traitors of every race and background rise and become corrupted in office. Clarence Thomas is the perfect example of this, just to name a single one along with basically any black police officer or politician who chooses to abuse their position.
I already mentioned somewhere else that basically every race has abused and marginalized every other race at some point in history. Race isn’t the inherent problem, but the desire to be superior for literally any reason. Today’s means to superiority is financial accumulation, combined with political power. Just because a small percentage of white people might be disproportionately putting other white people in positions of power, does NOT mean that “white people” are to blame. The abusers just happen to be white, and the nuance is important. It’s the same if they were black, yellow, red, or green.
Your example is also poor because you’re picking and choosing examples. On one hand, we have people accusing “white people” of wrongdoing because they are “white people”, which would be the same as me saying that “black people” are responsible of crime because they’re black. The real problem is not that they are black, but that they may be disadvantaged, which isn’t an inherent trait associated with their race. Them being black doesn’t make them bad, the same way that a white person being white doesn’t make them bad, even if other white people are wrong-doers.
And yes, you can be racist against white people. There is no definition that suggests racism is only possible against a certain type of person, which is ironically the exact definition of being racist.
