with 72% agreeing that going to a movie in a theater is a good value for the money.

I find most of the numbers from this survey to be dubious, but this one is insane. I would love to know just how leading these questions were.

They do say they surveyed moviegoers. That’s a lot of self selection right there. I think movie theaters are a terrible value so I hardly ever go to theaters.

Here you can find movies that are priced around 1 hr of min wage at fairly decent theaters , so lots of ppl go to a theater for a big release. And i support 1/3 of the title , we kinda need more good comedies that arent slapstic humour but some good comedic social commentairy told trough humour and not another “dystopian vibes” action movie

Remember the results are global. In my country it’s good value. There’s a lot of competition because it’s not lucrative enough for monopolising franchises anymore.

Do I still go? No, not really. Great big-screen movies aren’t as frequent as they once were and it doesn’t cost much to get a good display and sound in a lounge room. It doesn’t help that the “experience” of going isn’t there anymore. Cinemas give off strip mall vibes,

Most theaters nowadays have discount days. $7 Tuesdays in several cities I’ve visited this year.

And I remember $8 being considered expensive. Of course, there’s been inflation, but not enough to make up for the increase in ticket and food prices. There are people spending 10 bucks for a bag of popcorn.
