And the rest of the world is signing on for it. We’ve had enough of “Muricans” giving orders. Let’s all take these arrogant bastards down
Look, i’m all for defeating the maga virus, but let’s not underestimate the danger we face from the the US. It’s 100% POSSIBLE that the yanks will try to invade us within the next couple of years. If that happens, many if not most of us will be killed, imprisoned or impoverished. So we must have a plan to retaliate and make it too costly for the US to invade.
PLEASE DO!
Ignorant American here, I don’t care if you hate us, if you can do something to stop this, you might have a less resistance than you expect. I know everyone wants to pretend every country is a monolith and act like everyone in the entire country supports their government, even though this is universally untrue; but the reality is that only a chunk of Americans voted and only roughly half of that chunk voted for that orange piece of shit.
Something like 27% of people of legal voting age in the US voted for him, allegedly. That’s including people who didn’t vote, not registered, etc.
International reaction is slow on actual retaliations. Europe failing to announce aggressive specific measures on Monday will be a bad sign. Absolute shameful disgrace for them to commit further to US empire’s Ukraine/Russia mission, even as Macron said some stern words against tariffs.
Other than China, Carney is only one to impose tariffs on US. Low hanging fruit that directly benefits Canadians and other colonies is to publicly cancel F35 purchases, and other US weapon systems. There is an impression that they are privately paused, but that is simply not as strong as either a public pause or cancellation.
Boeing, Catterpillar, and Deere all have international competition and are easy to destroy through global boycotts or high tariffs. China retaliation has effectively killed the US’s largest energy export market, and Europe needs to tariff or price cap US energy. Europe needs to pull off bandaid of begging for US leadership. It will be a much longer process of deposing US agents in their rulership if they continue treachery against their people.
Obviously also, the tariffs are a major attack against US companies, and the broad ownership of them throughout US society. Even if EU traitors lick the diaper, those US interests will pressure WH. Shelves will be empty as businesses wait for tariff cancellation before ordering new product. In Soviet US, there were no breadlines, but the avocado and toaster rations were insufficient to satisfy the avocado toast fad.
I have no problem with taking the arrogant bastards down, but that’s not all the people in the US.
What I really want to see is A Bug’s Life come to life, with the American people finally rising up and burying their oligarch overlords.
I’d be willing to assist them in that just like France did last time.
Thank you, kind sibling. This rift is the most frustrating diplomatic choice I’ve ever seen America make. I hope we can make it right and grow closer someday.
Make no mistake: there are still others in this world who care about you, as a people. Your leaders are not on that list: they do not care about you. That much has been made evident for a long time. Even more importantly, the billionaires who call the tune your leaders dance to definitely do not care about you. Change cannot be exerted externally: it must come from within.
I’d love to see it happen, I will support it in any way I can.
Until such time as it does happen, as long as they continue milling about uselessly expecting maga to start following the laws any minute now and doing nothing else significant to obstruct it… Fuck em, they’re paying the taxes and powering the machine that is trying to destroy us.
That’s an interesting one… I wonder how many people are seeing the chaos at social services and the IRS this year and just deciding not to pay taxes?
Voting is only ONE of the ways to affect government.
I considered the fact that tax fraud is basically allowed right now, but I’m somebody that gets a return so it wouldn’t make sense for me to not file. The taxes the guy you’re replying to is referring to were taken out of my paycheck without my choice, it’s not like I happily and willfully put money into an envelope every quarter to send to the government, and this isn’t a fantasy world where I can just choose to not work.
You bring up a good point, but I’m not sure enough Americans are ready or aware, or desperate enough, yet, that civil disobedience is a thing. I hope they progress to using it very soon.
Bananas in ICE vehicle tailpipes. Not paying taxes. Jamming ICE ‘snitch’ phone numbers with spurious reports … that sort of thing.
agreed but also all of these will be declared to be terrorism within the year
Doesn’t mean you shouldn’t do it anyway.
Absolutely. I’m sick of pretending that American liberals aren’t compliant in this shit.
We’re ruining this place so fast that a lot of Americans are about to join me in learning how to protest.
Trump’s actions will create a power vacuum that will benefit the worlds biggest players, especially China.
But smaller players may also have a chance to jump a few rungs on the influence ladder. Could Canada be one of those nations?
Most people are afraid of how tariffs will tank the global economy (which they will) but there may be a small window of oppurtunity here too.
I actually don’t think China will be a significant benefactor for the US imposed power vacuum. Frankly, their economy is going to shit and they just don’t have anything to fill in the bottom that’s falling out. Apparently it’s starting to look like their population is only a third of what they claimed it to be, and most of their factories are shutting down. Their ghost cities are now not even being completed as everybody’s three generations investments are becoming worth less than the dirt it was built on. Even the refugees illegally entering the US through the Mexico boarder last year were majority Chinese.
Russia as well is now a borderline third world country, and the middle east is falling apart with decades of infighting and hate, not to mention that the oil they funded everything with is becoming harder and harder to sell between the green transition and Canada entering their markets as we pull out of the US.
Amazingly, I think that the stagnating EU is going to be the greatest benefactors of this power vacuum, if for no other reason than that nobody else is in a position to take advantage. Maybe Rwanda or another African nation can fill in the gap with how some of them are modernizing at an incredible pace, but considering all the wars they are fighting, not to mention that Rwanda is participating in another genocide right now, I have little expectations there for the next decade or two. South-east Asia and India stands a far better chance of becoming major world powers in that time, but they have their own internal problems to get over before having the power and influence on a world level.
So yea, EU is likely the next world leader and potentially the sole super power as the US crumbles under the weight of a rotting orange.
Frankly, their economy is going to shit and they just don’t have anything to fill in the bottom that’s falling out.
That is simply not reality. Global manufacturing center. Even with slowdown/flat housing sector, they’ve managed 5% growth just from manufacturing. Low debt. Everything else you said is outdated and false, IMO, and just part of desperate smear propaganda we are fed continuously.
China’s opportunity is to subsidize its consumer sector inviting nations that want to be friendly to it to export. Asia is low hanging fruit. Europe has luxury and alcohol, airplanes, but also well made status cars.
Big mistake for Canada to shut out China based on US smears and hatred. EU does not lead without extensive cooperation with China, or warmongering against Russia. China can treat EU better than US, but deprogramming from Russophobia and Sinophobia just seems so far away, that them choosing to be 52nd state is closer to overton window despite US attacks.
It is happening in small ways already. A food supplier here could not sell Silk (US brand) beverage product. They had so much aging stock they had to donate to non-profits and food banks. We all just need to stick to the boycotts even if is uncomfortable.
My husband went to the grocery store last night and forgot to check labels. He had this feeling of dread and was checking them as was putting everything away. To his relief, none of the items were American.
Not saying we should stop being vigilant, but the market is reacting to consumer demand and it’s getting easier to avoid US products. I can’t wait for our growing season to be in full swing…
There’s already dumb motherfuckers with “us flag / 51st” stickers on their pickup trucks driving around BC. Saw one a few hours ago. Gotta take care of that shit too
Gotta take care of that shit too
This is why Freedom of Speech is such an important right. Lets everyone know who the problem is.
Announcing is good.
Form a free trade zone with EU!
hi. american here. please do. this guy sucks and tolerance of him is unacceptable. you will find many people like me to aid and abet you as you sweep through
If you’re talking about a full scale invasion. You will likely find yourself in an Iraq style conflict. Foreign forces in your country are rarely seen as liberators. Especially if for the majority of citizens life hasn’t deteriorated to a point like Paris 1943
Exactly, and Canadians will be supporting one another and spotting for military, while US troops rely on a supply line. Many Americans think we don’t have guns here. That will be a surprise for them.
I believe the original comment was referring to a Canadian invasion of the US.
Oh right, I misread that, thanks
the orange chump is driving himself into the dirt already
kick their teeth in
kick our teeth in!!
Elbows up!
Recruit the 1/3 of Americans who hate his guts. They’ll help you for free.
They shouldn’t need us to “recruit” them.
“Inspire” might be a better word. They’re not all stupid, you know. Indoctrination doesn’t care how smart you are. They get you young enough, beat the drum steady for long enough, smart people can be convinced of very stupid things.
Lets get in their face. No more false humility. Let’s show them that, imperfect and broken as we are, we know a better way to do some of this stuff. Follow our lead, make your country a better place.
The real ones don’t. The performative ones will.
Agreed. Let’s fucking do this.
Fuck us up. I wish we could stop him ourselves but systems that can’t self-correct must be recreated by a higher consciousness
