In the late 1920’s or early 30’s my great grandparents made the decision to flee Germany and began a multi-year long trek to various places in Europe and finally ended up in America.

I wonder what sign they took as their last straw and I’m afraid I’ll miss it.

Probably if the SAVE Act passes without a filibuster from the DNC. It’s very unlikely to pass the Senate because, if the DNC filibuster it, then would require 7 people to flip to pass. Should it pass, a bill so obviously clear to disenfranchise many demographics that vote against the RNC, that shows the DNC truly do not intend to put any brakes on America’s decent into fascism. That would be a sign that it’s time to start making concrete plans to uproot my life and abandon my friends and family that I can’t help leave with me.

I figure the US really just needs to hold it together until the midterm elections. The DNC aren’t saviors or anything, but they’ll make enough roadblocks to prevent the absolute worst from happening to buy enough time to save up more resources for the next time the control flips.

Edit: if you’re an American citizen, I urge you to take the fifteen minutes required to write your senators about this bill and how imperative it is that it not pass. This defacto removes voting rights from tens of millions of Americans and I don’t think it’s a hard argument to make that it’s a turning point on the slow death of democracy in the USA.
