I’m not marrying robots, I cannot even fist them without lowing my hand.
“No son of mine is marrying a clanker”
“Omg dad you can’t say that”
“Why not? They call each other clanka’s all the time”
A conversation I’m gonna be having in 20 years /s
Do you want Gazorpazorp? Cause that’s how you get Gazorpazorp.
‘AI’ does bring out the luddite in me …
remember, luddites were not anti progress, they were pro workers rights. They broke infrastructure because factory owners refused to increase pay along with the increase in productivity.
“Mom, my Robot girlfriend is telling me she’s really craving a McDonald’s® Big Mac™ available for a limited time for only $39.99 and threatening to break up with me if she doesn’t eat”
“YOU CAN’T FUCK YOUR CLONES IT AINT RIGHT”
you only say so because you’re own clone turned you down
Damn. That’s oof
No… wait
That’s funny. As if we can afford kids. One trip to the grocery store costs more than I make in a day - and that’s after successfully negotiating for a higher wage. I can only imagine how much prices will skyrocket by the end of the year (without wages rising to meet them.)
Best of luck to anyone trying to feed a growing family.

I’ve thought of this often. I’m eager to find out what my boomer prejudices will be. I’m curious.
I already know a couple of mine:
- Wireless fucking sucks
- Bring back the headphone jack
- Apps suck
- E-mail is superior to every single communication method
email is awful and I dread it every time I have to use it it exactly replicates letters in all their awful overly wordy overly formal tone I can’t stand them I’ll agree on the apps though wireless is great though I hate wires
If it’s a self-hosted boyfriend/girlfriend being run locally I’ll accept.
That’s incest
isn’t that worse in this case?
Why is that worse?
because of the power imbalance. if you run them locally they’re dependent on you to live. it’s like marrying a pet.
I’m not sure, if I would like to run a potential e-gf on a remote server, trusting a company to keep the service live
If people are that emotionally involved, it seems just naturally, that they like…wanna live together
And the power imbalance will always be there.
On one side is a human being on the other side a statistical db/sentence generator
Who the fuck is going to be able to afford kids?
Who the fuck is
going to beable to afford kids?No need to wait, the shitty future is already here.
No, because modern “AI” are statistical probability engines.
They cannot create new things, only reproduce what was mostly stolen into their models.
So what you’re saying is, they’re good at reproducing?
That’s perfect. You already know your lines!
That’s not going to happen like that.
A screenshot of this comment is gonna pop up in agedlikemilk 20 years from now.
Maybe even now.
There’s this person who married Hatsune Miku: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Akihiko_Kondo
Plus a bunch of people falling in love with chatbots, including this 14 year old whom it led to suicide: https://edition.cnn.com/2024/10/30/tech/teen-suicide-character-ai-lawsuit
Ever further than that. The ELIZA effect was first documented in 1966, detailing how humans form emotional connections with simple text prompts with the illusion of depth. (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/ELIZA_effect)
This is merely an acceleration, and I’d expect social adoption to be an inevitable part of the future, and those who turn the keys for these platforms to carry enormous influence.
Acceptable boomer shit in my opinion. Have sex with as many robots as you want, but don’t become emotionally dependent on something that doesn’t have emotions, thoughts, or feelings.
Might want to read up on the ELIZA effect, I don’t think everyone will have the mental willpower to avoid that scenario.
That’s interesting. I was unfamiliar with the term and circumstances of the ELUZA effect, but I guess I know people attribute human characteristics to computers. Maybe some people will fall for it, but society shouldn’t accept it. AI character chat bots are already doing damage to vulnerable people.
something that doesn’t have emotions, thoughts or feelings
Saying things like this will be considered intolerant
