A meme from Advengers: Endgame of someone saying “You can rest now.” to Tony Stark. It has the caption “When IT visits your site and closes your 3654 tabs and reboots your computer for the first time in 58 weeks.”

Maybe IT should implement some decent update policies. This is just gross negligence.

I use the browser extension ‘auto tab discard’, have 16GB RAM (32GB on my desktop) and my uptime is usually several months before I reboot for a kernel update, but I can usually go at least half a year without any issues. I think I’m literally more likely to accidentally press my deskop’s power button than to have any kind of software issue that forces me to reboot.

I do turn it off via hibernation, though. I’m not an Umweltsau.

    Ctrl+Q

I’ve memorized this shortcut after three uses.

It’s beyond my understanding why people keep 10, 20, 30, 40 tabs open. Bookmark if it has useful informatio/content that may merit a revisit or a more in depth reading or viewing. Take notes if there is only a small useful snippet you find useful. And throw the rest away.

Why?! It only equates to lazyness in my mind. Close your browser properly.

Ayep. I mean, nobody even visits them or anything, they are not searchable, no benefits whatsoever. Use the goddamn bookmarks. Querable list, come on.
