Just saw the post about baked goods and thought it might be nice to have a place for people to list some favorite recipes. Would love to see a mix of more complicated ones and some more simple ones so don’t just share your fanciest. Share your favorites!
Made this carrot cake last week (didn’t make any frosting). It turned out really well. I only used 75% of the sugar the recipe calls for.

I’d completely forgotten about Sally!! Thanks so much for sharing this
Thanks for sharing! I have some chips left over from another recipe and I’ve been thinking about what to do with them. Looking forward to trying this tonight!
I’m making this borscht this week - I’m a fan 😄
Ooh that looks good, I’ll have to try the vegetarian version she has.
Leaving this bannock recipe that I often make with soups or stews - super easy and you end up with fresh warm bread in under 20 minutes!
If you’re a fan of soups/stews, you might want to try this vegetarian stew: https://www.goodto.com/recipes/vegetable-stew
Very tasty and you can make a big batch to freeze
I’ll bring a recipe soon, but wanted to note to my US people- if you can afford it and have space, the US makes it’s own sugar but it uses so much that it imports more.
If you’re looking for a staple that might be going up in price real soon, sugar is on the list. Maybe lay a few pounds away while you can.
Great idea! My favourite is bean goulash, it’s cheap, easy and healthy.
I really recommend sweet potato black bean stew by deliciously Ella. It takes an hour but is easy, you basically leave it alone and it cooks itseld
This is a simple one that I still get a craving for every once in a while: https://www.everyplate.com/recipes/beef-shepherds-pie-62f1622f2c02226365032497
I try to minimize my consumption of red meat but you can adjust the proportion or replace it with meat substitutes and it’s still really good.
