Tie a bunch of helium balloons around your waist. Weigh less and you get to enjoy balloons. And your (SO/cat/dog whatever you have) will be able to see where you are easier 👍

Focus on that then, use the scooter as a goal to lose weight. I personally went from 235 down to 195 in the past 5 months by not eating carbs/sugar (essentially keto). Didn’t change my actual activity levels, just stopped eating foods that pretty much do nothing for you and are very hard to process which results in excess body weight.

I’m at that weight because of my job, I have to be able to push literal tons of weight on wheels for hours a day. I’m actually not that high in body fat

Apologies if I upset you in any way, still hope my success helps someone regardless. Didn’t mean to assume you were overweight. more of a happy personal information sharing I was doing.

There are, but mine are 330 and 355lbs(I’m around 200, but like room to haul stuff. Dedicated cargo bikes can do even more.

My e-bikes are nothing special either, just a Portola and EP2 Pro

I used a Razer scooter when I weighed 150kgs and the weight limit was 80. It was fine until I went down a main road breaking the whole way and the rear wheel melted and I had to bail onto the side of the road. Still, the metal was fine, just the wheel, so yeah, it can be done, but it can be way too much fun

Find yourself an old Honda elite 125 or bigger on Craigslist or marketplace. You won’t have any problems. If you are lucky you can find one with the dope flip up headlight

Maybe I’m wrong then, when I did some research I looked at 3 or so different brands and they all said around 220-230, so I assumed that was pretty standard. They certainly didn’t look too flimsy

100kg-125kg (220-275lbs) are fairly common weight ratings yeah. Half of it is because the frame needs to handle you dropping a curb without snapping like a pretzel, but the other half is because gravity is a bitch and trying to go up even a small hill takes a lot of power.
Most escooters promise 25-30% climb capability, but hauling 300lbs up a 30% grade at just 10mph requires 2200 watts, while most smaller escooters max out at 500-1000W.
Even that 1000W is only enough for ~4.5mph.

How much do you weigh? Mantis makes some that do at least 265 lbs and I’m sure there are some with higher ratings. Let me see if I can find some stuff.

For the extra money you can stab yourself with some selmaglutide meds instead, so that you stop being obese. Did this myself, lost 4kg in 1 month, and that has stayed off. You can even buy em cheap out of china, if you dare.

Net result is you’re probably about as likely to die as you were beforehand (increased longevity from weightloss offset with scooter incident risk) but at least you’ll have more fun.

Mate, you’re from Brisbane, same as me, so of course we’re chiselled titans. OP on the other hand is posting in both Linux and Elderscrolls subforums and complaining about his flag-waving HOA, there’s no way he’s 105kg of muscle.

I use Linux, have played multiple Elder Scrolls games, but weigh 215 and have a 34" waist. Am suburban American. I don’t take any injections or use any medication either. I bet there are lots of Americans who are in better shape than you would suggest, but even if OP isn’t, it’s not your place to judge.

Hahhaha, good point! Also hey fellow Brissy human!! Seems there is a reasonable number of us on here these days!

Also legit question, what was your experience like using semaglutide? Seems you got good results! And nice work with that., But while using it, no gnarly sides or other less than stellar symptoms etc?

Yo man!! Yeah I didn’t know lemmy was popular here! I’d go to a meet if someone else organised it 😁

So I was 92kg, but my snoring starts kicking in when I’m over 90kg. Went to doc and he put me on the lowest dose of Monjaro (2.5mg). I found that was way too much, so I dropped the pen to 20 clicks (full dose is 30), so 2/3rds dose each time. Full dose almost made me pass out at work, I just had zero appetite.

I work from home and exercise often, but my snack impulse is very strong, especially when training hard. I found on 2/3rds dose that my snack impulse was significantly suppressed, but I didn’t have the negative effects others were having around insomnia etc. Working from home, the fridge is always open, and I have returned to snacking now, but my weight has stabilised at 88kg after just the one pen.

Doc gave me a single repeat, and once life calms down a bit, I’ll try using it again to go lower. For my height the absolute optimal weight for longevity is around 81kg, so I may use or or two more repeats to get there. I’d never bother trying to lose weight without it again, it made the whole thing so much easier, and I probably saved the cost of the pen on junk food/restaurants. I also wanted to break up its use with some time off to wean my body off the extra hormone, as the standard arrangement is to keep cranking up the strength of the pen as the body gets used to it. Right now I’m 6 weeks since I stopped taking it, and admittedly I’ve put 1kg back on, but I’ve also added 15kg to my squat.

Overall, 5 stars, it’s absolutely unreal. I paid $279AUD for the 1 pen, and got back $80AUD from my extras health cover.

Oh man, that’s very interesting to hear, thanks for sharing, and awesome results for you!! And hey, 1kg bodyweight for an extra 15 on the squat! That’s some good freaking numbers. You have any idea of composition breakdown, as in, is that 1kg of bodyweight mostly muscle or not?

Did you have any issue getting semaglutide in Australia from china? Have looked around and seems like the general consensus is that abf will intercept it, what supplier did you use?

I absolutely wouldn’t bother in Aus. Chemist Warehouse is selling 2.5mg of Monjaro for $279, which is what I took, and I got $80 back of that from my health insurance. I was more making reference to the good old USA, where my understanding is that each pen is around $1k.
