People absolutely panned this flick for its unrealistic narrative. It’s one of my favorites. If you just let this movie exist in its own sphere and stop trying to apply logic to it it’s such a joy to watch. The climax just brutalizes my heart. Never seen Body & Soul, going to take a look.

I think I loved the idea of the story; bizarre, surreal tales are usually my favourite, but the execution in Us fell a bit flat. I like that there are a bunch of doppelgängers hanging around in tunnels/caves underground, I like that they eventually came to the surface, I don’t really care much for the mirrored personality traits (it felt like it tried to go with too many plot points whereas it should have been just a simple revenge tale), I feel like director Peele really nailed his message in Get Out, but with Us, I feel like he missed the mark completely. A very original movie but hard to live up to Get Out and I still feel a bit unclear what he wanted to say in Us.

Yeah it’s a good flick with a neat idea he explored. It’s not a documentary.
