Where does this prove that OSINT is literally just a CIA recruitment tool?

That is what the CIA does. This is relevant because this is the shit they are recruiting people to do.

The CIA is inherently evil and was founded with literal Nazis.

@[email protected] I know you are more qualified to answer this so I am taggin you in comrade.

I’m not sure if you saw the rest of this thread, but I sincerely recommend against following this guy’s approach to basic communication. If you want to progress your thought or be able to articulate anything from a left-wing perspective without just looking like you have no clue what you’re talking about, there are much better ways to approach it.

All I am asking you to do is substantiate a claim that you made.

The best recent resource that does a deep dive into the US’s hand in open source projects, is Yasha Levine - Surveillance Valley.

Its a longer history on how and why the US developed the internet - as a counter-revolutionary surveillance and information warfare tool to aid the empire, and also how it coopts youthful/enthusiastic tech movements to aid in that goal. The later chapters get into the current phase of this, using open source tools funded by the US national security state to fight its current enemies.

Does it answer the question I asked or is it tangential anti-Americanism?

I don’t know what your question is specifically but you should never refuse to read things because it might be anti-US and you have a pro-US bias for some reason.

I didn’t refuse to read anything and I defy you to find anything I wrote that is a “pro-US bias”. I dare you.

Why did you even come to this thread if you’re not going to read it and remain willfully ignorant of what was written? It’s just weird behavior. It’s also hilarious that you’re preemptively chastising me for not reading when you have no clue what is in the thread you’re posting in. Great stuff.
