So I have recently gotten interested in home plant based meat substitutes like seitan and this guy pops up every time I look for recipe guides on Youtube and I have noticed a few red flags. As an example, he has like 20 different hamburger recipes that all use wildly different ingredients while claiming they are all better tasting than Impossible meat. And of those recipes, most use highly processed or sponsored ingredients that are difficult to get.

He sucks, when I first started making vegan burgers I tried one of his recipes and it was so bad my partner and I wouldn’t even eat it! While he was sitting there with his wife saying it’s amazing better than anything else

I think his recipes are too complicated. He is also kind of a jerk, I called him out for not being vegan lol. I don’t eat anything food sciency and the most processed thing I use is tvp on occassion. I eat mostly beans and rice

I’m in favor of absolutely anyone and everyone who talks about veganism in a positive way and is well-meaning, personally.

Make the tent bigger even if it has people who are different from you.

I’ve made quite a few of his recipes. Tbh, I think he’s forgotten what non-vegan food tastes like. This also goes for “Thee Burger Dude” (although his stuff typically has less specialty ingredients.

At least part of this comes down to the never ending crusade for a meat substitute that’s “better than the real thing.”
