*sigh* in no moment the OOP even implies that.
On-topic: PieFed is packed with a bunch of interesting stuff, mentioned by another user in that thread: better resource usage, better mod tools, gallery view, the ability to combine comments from different comms, a multi-reddit-like feature… and, additionally:
- a button to mute all replies to your comment
- an “attitude” score, to detect people who are excessively combative
- filter posts based on keywords
I’m actually rather excited for it, because it seems to be progressing at a fast pace.
the unfortunate event of lemm.ee shutting down lead to a lot of new instances adopting piefed. the dev team said this lead to a lot more feedback that drives development.
I’m so onboard with this.
Some of the comments there are so miserable lmao. No doubt from some of the people who moan about reddit.
There’s definitely a huge aura of letting the enemy of good being perfect in how people view reddit-alternatives.
It’s a bit disappointing to see our Linux brethren over there behave in such a manner.
I used to think being a Linux user should enable someone to be more open to using the Fediverse and just working through its quirks. Much like Linux.
But I’m also a fool lol.
