I put it down to a large amount of crazyfuckingvideos-like demographics subbing to everything in lemmy as a reddit replacement. R/tumblr being a good place for memes and interesting bits (or, was), but not for people who also like tumblr? I guess? It’s weird.

the sportsball types come to this conclusion after about two seconds of deep contemplation.
it’s hardly mature to obsess over men in tight pants running around a field playing a children’s game but being paid millions of dollars.
maturity would be to realize these games, and the associated billions wasted in gambling on them, are a drain on our society.
