Nigel Farage has condemned a Gay Pride event in Chesterfield after the LGBT celebration urged punters to “toss a milkshake” at a cardboard cutout of the Reform UK leader.

Attendees of the pride event, organised by Stand Up to Racism, were able to win prizes for hitting different coloured circles on the Nigel Farage model, including sweets and Stand up to Racism badges.

The stall offered punters sponge balls in four “flavours”, representing mango, raspberry mint and blueberry milkshakes.

The attraction made light of the assault suffered by Mr Farage while campaigning in Clacton during the general election.

Mr Farage has now told The Express that while he is “all for mockery and a good laugh”, he suggests that “this goes too far”

The newly-elected MP added: “Liberal intolerance is clear for all to see”.

The Derbyshire Times also reported one local man, Richard McAllister, who drew attention to the pride stall, fuming: “I think it’s particularly unacceptable after the assassination attempt on former President Trump”.

While Derbyshire Police said it had received a complaint, they said no further action is being taken.

Sure, let’s ignore them and let them do and say whatever they want. Yeah, great idea.

Let’s ignore them so no one else can learn how stupid he and other people like him are. Yeah, great idea.

Let’s just ignore anything we don’t like and live in some bubble where we don’t see things we don’t like. Yeah, great idea.

Ignoring stupid people doesn’t stop stupid people from doing and saying stupid shit. Pointing out stupid shit is important.

Yes, ignore them. Deplatforming works. Let them talk all they want, but don’t publicize every fart they make. It limits their reach and in the end limits their ideas from being spread.

I can’t believe this is not simply understood. That’s how advertising works, too. Out of sight, out of mind.

That doesn’t mean banning them from social media, just stop over reporting every thing they say.

Yes. That’s how it works in a democracy.

We don’t silence people through violence just because we disagree with them.

No kidding. My statement was made in the context of the article, where he’s spewing BS and pointing it out that it is BS.

Here, I’ll expand more f9r your benefit.

let them do and say whatever they want …

Without arguments or counterpoint, or pointing out how fing dumb the statements/actions/whatever are.

And at no time did anyone in this thread condone violence to silence them. Where did you get that from?

Better than ignoring it. Notice Farage’s party didn’t win any notable positions in the last election? Yeah, its because of media coverage and people discussing politics. Just because you want to ignore everything and feel useless doesn’t mean everyone should.

Is it better than ignoring it? In case you hadn’t noticed, everything Farage has wanted politically, he’s ended up getting.

And now he’s even an MP. Doesn’t sound like this tactic is working against him too well.

How does ignoring him help? He’s still going to run, he’s still going to spew his bullshit. Without criticism, his party could have gained more seats/positions. Without the media, more people are able to see how stupid he is. The ones that voted for reform were going to vote that way anyhow. It is worth it to discuss stuff to keep others from being swayed their way.

Ignoring stuff doesn’t automatically make things go away. Ignoring stuff isn’t going to change the minds of people who would consider voting for people like him.

If you still disagree with me, thats cool. I don’t really care because at least you arent supporting him or his shit platform.
