the thing about this kid who they keep going on about - yes, at face value it’s perhaps a bit insane to have someone so inexperienced to perform such a large role - but so far, it seems he’s been fine?
Time will tell, but doesn’t it seem like the job is maybe not that difficult? Maybe young people are quite capable? Maybe the position is so bureaucratic it’s pointless?
The dirty little secret about most bureaucracies is that there’s the analysts who get the work done, there’s a small handful of upper-mid managers who have the institutional knowledge and rapport with enough of the agency/department in order to put that work into useful action, and then there’s the guys at the top that are there for political reasons and just pass off what the analysts and upper-mid managers do as their own work.
i mean… there were a lot of sleeper cells of mossad/israeli’s in iran so why wouldn’t they think the inverse was happening
