They should get the breeders for animal cruelty and trading standards: “XL Bully cats” implies large, aggressive cats that could eat small children, not pitiful crippled cats doomed to a life of suffering.

They already exist. I think they are called tyjres or something similar.
What is it with people wanting to buy ridiculous looking pets that have health to problems to the point of suffering? These things, pugs, bull dogs, it’s honestly so cruel…
this is why all those monster and mutant movies are so believable. there are probably mad scientists and crazy breeders out there right now plotting to create the next weird suffering monstrosity. we can only hope they settle for just making more glow-in-the-dark plants.

It’s worse… there’s “social media influencers”.
I know this is about cats, but if Satan had a dog, it’ll be an XL bully
… or a chihuahua.
Little bastard psychopaths.
No other organism has such a vast size to aggression misalignment.
There are less aggressive bears.
I don’t even get why people buy pets. The shelter has plenty who need a good home and will love you the same.
Because the last dog I rescued cost me $7k in vet bills and needed to be put down a month and a half later due to health issues anyway. We had him just long enough to get attached. Then i spent all night with him puking up more blood then i thought he could have in him.
If I buy a puppy from a breeder I know it’s genetics and can make sure it doesn’t have pre existing conditions from abuse.
Miss you Fen…
In a word, materialism.

It’s funny how we can talk til the cows come home about regulating animal breeds and breeding out genetic defects but only for animals. Humans, being never part of the animal kingdom, are right off the table. Just the way Jesus made us
The UK truly is a special place. Greetings from the mainland.
People are being urged not to buy the feline equivalent of XL bully dogs, which have been created by breeders in the US.
Maybe they originated in the US, but I don’t recall reading about an XL Bully mauling someone in Europe, other than numerous reports from England. The fact that this type of cat is becoming popular, just because it resembles their hideous canine cousins, is pretty telling.
