To all Americans here, please get educating, agitating and organising. I think with all the climate catastrophes, insane government actions and generally thing just getting worse this is a wakeup call to many people, especially those who are “apolitical”. Weakening the capitalists in their home will weaken them elsewhere, weaken the chain so that the links are easier to break!
and don’t give up on people just because they have reactionary identity politics. (unless of course you are a target of their reactionary views) Class consciousness has a large influence on breaking through identity politics while identity politics do next nothing to further class consciousness. (which is why usa uses rainbow imperialism and pink washing)
There is more revolutionary potential in a reactionary individual who is angry at all the wrong people for their material conditions than there is in a liberal who is materially comfortable in the status quo. Its just a matter of inertia, redirecting an object in motion requires less energy than getting a stopped object moving.
A liberal will never get angry enough to act until their material conditions degrade significantly which is something only the ruling class has control over. Redirecting the justified anger of an ignorant reactionary to the real source of their material hardships is just a question of agitation. Material conditions are what drive people to action while ideology drives what actions they take. We can’t influence people’s material conditions but we can influence ideology.
Elon Musk has gone fucking crazy. Every post he makes is antagonizing the UK and posts about how shitty the UK is are getting boosted.
Not only that, he is also boosting far-right parties like AfD vehemently. It seems that with his newfound political power he will try to instigate the ascent of as much fascist parties to power as is possible for an influential multimillionaire. He might be a lunatic, but in no way is he a complete fool.
And what liberals are doing to counter him are of course insufficient.

Their politicians and like-minded journalists can shout all they want about how Russian propaganda corrupts the EU from within, and call for banning Russian media outlets, but when it comes to USA and Elon Musk in particular, we can only ‘condemn his intervention’ into the politics of European countries. No one would possibly think about blocking X or the like. No one would lift a finger to actually prevent him from spearheading the rise of the far-right in the EU. I’m usually optimistic but it can’t be helped if 80 years after USSR crushed the Nazi Germany more and more countries are drifting to the right. Germany, France, Austria, Greece, Italy, what the heck is happening to Europe? Have we forgotten?

Its blatant upper class collaboration between the UK and the US, nothing more, UK politicians get a poll boost because they can score some easy PR wins, Musk likely gets better trade deals.

I just got fired because they didn’t want people with temporary contracts. I was already trying to find a new job, since I didn’t want to stay already but they didn’t tell me when they were going to fire me so now I don’t have a job and without a new job planned. It sucks, because it’s also a time where I have a lot of healthcare expenses, all of them to do with being transgender.

I’ve had Stacey Q songs in my head for like a month. Its started to let up a bit but there was a bit there where it was constant for days.
It seems the US has successfully eradicated Asian Hornets, which is a great achievement. If only European countries could put up some effort…
We would sadly rather shoot all the wolves than get rid of Asian hornets, seeing the political landscape.
Well yeah wolves threaten land owning rich farmers’ profits while the hornets target mainly honey bees and wanting to prevent that is green bullshit!!!
Though it must be said that our honey bees are doing pretty okay and are in no direct threat of extinction at the moment. And our native bee species are mostly solitary which means they are often not worth the effort for the hornets.
We should focus on more rewilding efforts to restore biodiversity, attracting more native bees who are better pollinators than honey bees and attracting more birds who can help us with hunting terror hornets. But with the current government that’s just a far away dream.

So there is snow. I think I see some of it on top of the roof of a car in my street. It’s not exactly the blizzard they predicted but it’s something. What a panic.
Today is my first day of semester 6! And fun fact, 2025 should be my last year of undergrad and if everything goes according to plan I will graduate in December! I just wanna finish up here and finally move on to my masters. Also I will start learning Russian this year, too bad there’s no classes I can take so self teaching is what I’ll have to do.

I just started with Russian on Duolingo last week. And here I thought spelling was difficult in my first language (English)
I did do a few lessons and struggled since I didn’t know the alphabet, that is something I know will be tough.
If you can get it, I recommend the app called “Russian Alphabet in 3 Hours.” It uses what it calls “contextual learning”, going through the letters and putting them in context of use to help you learn them. You’d probably have to practice them as well after to make sure it stays ingrained, but I think it’s a pretty strong introduction to the alphabet. And it’s free, afaik; the only “string attached” is an organic ad for a related podcast that teaches more Russian and I think the podcast is paid, but I didn’t go as far as checking that out.

At this point I wonder how much damage a capital flight would actually do. We have so many failsons here running the show I am convinced it will do a bit of damage and that is about it.
Another note, I loathe hearing trad-pioneer types talk about homesteading like it was the good old days when America back in the 1800s was still completely politically fucked. People were straight up buying votes back then and only white people were allowed in government while cholera and medieval diseases still killed many. Most of the time the influencers have this gargantuan plantation house in the middle of nowhere that probably still costs them 40k something a year in property taxes and utilities alone with full hook-ups that they “built themselves”.

Me too, i think its better on the long run but pretty bad short term. There is a legit paranoia among the petit bourgeoisie in México, and many are trying to leave, which would be great honestly.
Good reminder of that I despise the petit bourgeoisie more than actual billionaires sometimes. Mostly because it is exactly the kind of people I have to deal with often in my line of work and I’m convinced 80% of them are piece of shit scumbags who scrape on entirely by cutting corners in every transaction, interaction and contract-work they ever do.
My old phone slowly died, so I decided to finally dump all the Google shit and bought Huawei Pura 70, it doesn’t have Google services (as expected) AND also have a Chinese-produced Kirin CPU, so almost zero western dependency, and it’s soooo good, I love it 🥰
