From what I’ve heard, a big factor is body dysmorphia. Do you look at your chest and think it’d feel more right with boobs on it? Does the idea of facial hair seem like it could never be “you”?

You don’t have to be all man all the time. You can like feminine things. That doesn’t mean you’re actually a woman. There’s plenty of shades of grey.

And I’m not trying to shame you. I’m telling you you’re being a dick for no reason, and that’s a personal problem you should work on. I don’t care if work on it or not, I don’t know you. But I bet you’re surrounded by people who would appreciate if you worked on yourself a bit.

It’s about frequency and how badly it affects your quality of life. I went almost 40 years just self-medicating with caffeine and having lots of coping mechanisms. But with the birth of my second child, it was too much and I couldn’t hold it together. That’s when I got a proper diagnosis and medication.

100% right. I stayed unmedicated until my coping mechanisms started to fall apart. I’m currently on the lowest dose of medication, just to get back to that normal.
