When you’re running late so you walk quickly to your seat on the bus, like that’ll make it go faster lol
I walk to the front door of the tram to get off at my stop so I get home 5 seconds earlier.
They just won’t stop growing. This is my fourth harvest and I’m barely half way through and the harvested ones are still fruiting.
I think I may have went a tad too far this season. My tummy hurts.
@Bottom_racer will gladly provide advice on what to do with a bountiful chilli harvest no doubt.
Haha, yeah Bottom_racer does sauces and that’s far beyond my skill level so I’m just dehydrating them and giving excess bags away to friends :)
I am generally too scared to do sauces, but I made myself do a fermented one last year using exquisite yellow scotch bonnets, and it was SO totally worth it (then I had to move and it got contaminated).
I definitely recommend having a go at it some time, even just a tiny batch for yourself. It was actually not as hard as I thought - despite the many gurus out there who overcomplicate things
frends and fam
I’m gonna ferment mine then blend them with roast capsicum (and a little chickpea, garlic, salt and vinegar).
Had a pretty good day. Nice end to the week. Had some time to chat with the CEO which was good. He’s really chill.
Guitar and rest tonight I think. I haven’t been able to play most of the last 2 weeks because of my shoulder which has been pretty rough tbh.
Have rehearsal tomorrow so will do the best I can tonight.
Here is one of the newest additions to the stray family:
Oh, what a cute!
Did we find Calico?
Sadly not :(
Big ups to @YarraByte and @Brionglorid for the bot’s two week anniversary.
One of my fave producers is comin’ to town later in the month but they’re hitting $115 per ticket.
Back in the day (2000’s) it was $30/40 for a line up like that. in the EU something similar would be 20 euros.
Can’t justify that coin when you’re spending 1/2 the time in the smoking area talking rubbish with randos holding an $18 pint.
Australia is not a cheap place and I understand the cost pressures. Promoters won’t be making bank (truly doing it for the love of it) but it’s hard to see the scene thrive for internationals at that pricing.
I’m gonna try and get Lady Gaga tix this week. $115 bucks would be a dream 😭
ooh yea that one will sting.
Who is it? Might dig up some cash and suss em out.
It’s one of the bigger line ups for the scene. If I was going to go the one set I wouldn’t miss is Mefjus.
On the 26th april at the timber yard.
Legend thanks mate!
Will probs grab a ticket later today.
Had two beers, and then two tequila mixes, fell asleep at like 9pm.
I’m impressed I woke up at 8am today 😂
Funnily enough, had some evening drinks during the week recently (something I very rarely do). Probably like 3 beers and maybe 3 whiskeys. Definitely was tipsy but not drunk drunk. Had a great night sleep and was up early feeling refreshed.
Not like I’ll be making a habit out of this, but a few drinks ain’t the end of the world.
This week can fuck right off. Work was super stressful. Time for icecream and beers
Same. I am going for wine and a new hair colour. It’s blue time baby
Don’t forget to put the black pillow cases on before the wine and dye.
Oh I long ago resigned myself to rainbow pillowcases
The way our program is structured, in my new gig, Fridays tend to be quite busy. I’ve got like 4 meetings today and some serious work after lunch. Very unusual for me.
free noodles, free stew, free soup, free ice cream
i am beginning to think i am a cat

is getting my flu shout and bringing the kid to get his a bad idea? I remember my parents trying something when I was a kid and it did NOT go well. But I was older and they didnt really talk to me about it.
My kids had their boosters at all appropriate ages and still get annual flu shots and whatever else is required.
If the shot is suitable for young ones, it’ll be fine.
oh sorry, shoulda been clearer. hes getting it either way. More just “Is me doing at the same time a good idea? does it help calm things down or is it scarier seeing dad get his shot?”
Definitely better. Go first and make it funny. Kid will be fine.
Definitely will help. Make sure you convey to the nurse any sort of nervousness the kid has (subtly of course). They usually have a foolproof distraction technique ready to go. Last time it was an issue for us the nurse had a little vibrating bee toy they put on minicalhoon’s arm which sort of tickled… completely distracted her from the shot.
hes a bit young to sort of communicate unfortunately. last time we went to the doctor he started screaming the second he saw him. The doctor just laughed and goes “he remembers me!”
Role modelling normalises stuff. Like how seeing their parents read for leisure makes kids more likely to do the same.
It’s not good to be shouted the flu. But the HCP who injects it might be able to distract little one.
Just grated a potato, soaked and rinsed it, stirred in some pakora batter powder then deep fried it till crunchy. Holy shit I need to be careful with this culinary heroin I’ve discovered.
EDIT: I’ve also made a mix of 50/50 bbq sauce / siracha which is pretty good too.
Maybe they’ll be allowed more often if they’re baked?
OK so if work is making me give up my lunch break to go to someone’s going away lunch, I think it’s fair that I not have to pay.
Thoughts?
EDIT: 0. Go and just HIT the booze, have like four beers and a dozen tequila shots. If they sack you for getting drunk at a work function sue their asses into your retirement.
- Pay and accept it as part of work social life, it’s a chance to bond with new colleagues.
- Go but don’t eat anything, claim you’re in a bit of debt while being between jobs. Eat your packed lunch on the way to the lunch. Maybe come across as a bit difficult.
- Refuse to go saying that if they’re not paying for the meal or your lunch break they can gargle your fucking nuts.
I reckon I’ve listed them in order of acceptability and reverse order of what I’d want to do.
2 is a really good option, probably what I’d do as well. The other time we had a work lunch at a nearby pub that was eye wateringly expensive, I didn’t eat and later when the idea of going there was floated again I just straight up said it was nice but out of my budget. Only then did some colleagues chime in to agree. Just gotta be brave sometimes
Very well put.
As dumble said, tell them that out of pocket lunch expenses are not in your budget at the time and you prefer to eat what you brought from home.
I’ve never actually attended a farewell lunch, especially for someone whom I barely know.
Hopefully this won’t affect your standing with your colleagues, but they should be accepting of your situation.
I AM ON HOLIDAY UNTIL THE 28th
