Good news. My daughter has passed year 12!!!

There will be celebrations and pats on the back all round. 🎉

Guys, I’m actually crying now. I haven’t cried in years. Considering she spent the first 2 years of high school in lockdown and up until a month ago was drowning in school work and nearly giving up I’m immensely proud.

    EOFY grizzles.

    spoiler

If I hear one, just ONE, more client saying “I meant to send you this last week, but I forgot. Can I have the documents by 3pm cos I need them for settlement with the bank.” I will DO SOMETHING I WILL REGRET LATER. Am now officially entering hermit mode until I can face the (allegedly) human race again.

PS I think there’s something in the water in Sydney that causes accountants to blow a gasket if you need more than 15 minutes (total) to:

    1. Reinstate a defunct company that ASIC deleted for non-payment of annual fees. (This usually takes 3 months).

    2. Change that company’s name

    3. Deregister another company

    4. Change the trustee company for 3 interrelated trusts with all the benefit going to 3 separate super funds

    5. Issue super fund updates (new deeds) for the 3 funds in 4) above. and

    6. they want a volume discount.

THEY. CAN. GET. IN. THE. BIN.

EDIT: On the up side, I had the great privilege of addressing a parcel to a gentleman named Huw Janos. I bet he has to spell his name out a lot. And had a terrible time in primary school. Some parents should be shot before they have a chance to produce offspring let alone name them.

Yeah! Thumps table Who decided we should work for about FIVE DECADES of our lives, 5 days a week, one third of our day? Work-rest-play my arse!

Do you think that should also mean a 4 day school week as well? One day a week off school is like a month out of the entire year off school.

I mean, school should also probably reflect more of what we face out in the real world, but that’s an entirely different discussion!

                I wholeheartedly agree.

When I was on a school placement, there was a lot of, “This is boring! Why do I even have to learn this?”

I think a lot of school is about learning how to learn and having to face boring things, because not every job is going to be smelling the roses everyday.

I have to say, the curriculum includes content on respectful relationships and social-emotional learning, which I’m a big fan of. Although I’ve yet to see anyone teaching this stuff.

Sorry, I deleted because I’m a few wines deep and not sure I was presenting any kind of acceptance or debate of what you said. However, I would LOVE to see schools teach more on respectful relationships and social-emotional learnings. I think my point was more about knowing more about the history of the Medici Family than how to budget in Australia, but I think I was going a little off the rails. Thanks for the engagement on the comment nontheless, you are fuckin’ AWESOME

Maybe, some schools take 3 weeks off instead of 2 during the little breaks so that’s 3 weeks out of the year anyway for them.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha the RE cancelled the inspection because the agent who was meant to come do it was so sick he couldn’t drive and his parents had to come pick him up. I hope he feels better soon!

But it does mean that I suddenly don’t have anything to do until later tonight. So I’m touching up my nail polish and enjoying the clean house I worked my butt off for. Mein liebe also managed to do the bathroom last night, at like midnight 😂 but I’m proud of him for doing it! He hadn’t taken his medication so was struggling (ADHD), and I knew if I just did it he would feel worse for having done nothing lol. Anyway, time to enjoy my cuppa and let my nails dry - I’m so happy I stopped chewing/biting my nails so I can actually use nail polish

Dried apples, apricots, salted cashews and peanuts, and some of those ‘pork crackling’ chip things have been packed into a lunchbox for my dinner tomorrow night.

I ate some that was still left in the packets and now I’m going to explode 💥

Rode the regular bike to work and remembered how much work it really is. I think it’s easy to underestimate on an electric bike because you’re still pedaling.

But it takes a lot more work to hit 26kmh on the flat with a regular bike than an ebike. The ebike gets you up to 25 and that last kilometre is all you

My Myki worked! But then on the train someone mentally unwell got on board with no shirt on and was shouting at nobody. He sat a few blocks of seats away from me (but facing me), kept talking / shouting. I could hear him through my headphones. Then he got up and started approaching people sitting in the train and talking / shouting in their faces. Most people’s strategy was to ignore, some people got up and walked off before he got too close. I sat perfectly still. One person was talking to him, asking questions about where he was going and who he was going to see, and that seemed to calm him down. Then he came to where I was sitting and asked to use my “camera” (the camera on my phone which I was gripping tightly in my hand). I said no, and he started repeating the question more angrily. My body just froze up during all of this, after the pumpkin episode and all. Getting ready to defend myself if he tried to snatch the phone or attack me. Lucky the man who had been talking to him noticed what was happening and asked him a question, he turned away and kept talking to him. And eventually got off at Footscray. That was not the relaxing train trip I had in mind for this morning.

I’m glad that person was kind and patient enough to try and keep this person’s attention but it’s awful that you had to experience that.

I thanked him as he was getting off the train. He was so calm and collected throughout. Even though he told me he was getting a little worried about something bad happening. There really are good samaritans out there 😇

Thank goodness for the other guy but it’s so frustrating to have to risk experiencing that level of danger on PT. It’s no wonder that so many insist on driving even when there’s good train or tram connections. I have a lot of respect for people like that dude who are able to stay engaged and kind to people in mental distress and can redirect their behaviour

I am looking forward to the day I unpack my sandwich press, having to toast my sandwiches in the frying pan is a bit of a pain.

But today's sandwich was pretty awesome anyway

I have done that technique, but have found just turning it to work just as well and be a bit simpler.

It had colby and feta cheese, chicken, some roasted vegetables, marinaded capsicum, mushroom and kale. The feta had been in herb & garlic oil which adds a bit of nice flavour too.

I do batches of grilled vegies and freeze them so I can do fancy sandwiches easily. I also freeze sliced meats and caramelized onions (and the bread itself) and make sure I always have cheese in the fridge, and then just add in anything extra I have on hand.

Oh I remember those days. I missed the bus once because I was trying to get my hair right. My dad threatened to shave it all off.

Funnily enough, I haven’t spoken to him for 20 years now…

    BEEEEEAAAAAACCCCHHHH

I found a rare species of shell I haven’t found before. A Segraves Cone. They are rare, they are deep water and rarely get washed up.

The park along the beach and the roads have been blocked by torn up bushes and thick layers of sand and seaweed.

The beaches look clean. It’s a lovely day and boats were going out to fish 😊
